It's a fascinating read, even if you don't have any problems or you feel you aren't interested in your insides. You will be once you've finished this! And you should be. You are what you eat. The food that you put inside you will be used to produce new cells; skin, bone, internal organs, brain cells..... the whole lot! How your body digests your food affects every other aspect of your health. Think anaemia, osteoperosis, vitamin B deficiency.
It's wonderfully written - easy to navigate for the non-scientist, with amusing illustrations and funny in places.
It will guide you through the different body parts which make up your digestive system and explain the processes which take place there. It covers good squatting positions, the different bacteria and how antibiotics are affecting us, food intolerances, how the brain and gut interact, amongst other mind-boggling topics.
I found plenty of information to keep me engaged, from how different food stuffs are processed to how our gut performance may affect our immunity and mood.
